Opening Weekend and some Press

June 2nd, 2010

Opening weekend was a blast. We finally got to hear some laughter that wasn’t coming from the cast. Thanks to all those who came on to see the show over the holiday weekend and make sure to spread the word if you liked it, and judging by the amount of laughs I’m assuming you all did.

If you didn’t make it out this weekend make sure to get yourself tickets because Bikers! only runs for two more weekends!

Here is a writeup about the show from critic Alec Kerr:

Laconia Motorcycle Week

May 19th, 2010

Bikers! makes it on the Laconia Bike Week schedule. If you didn’t already know, Laconia will be swarming with motorcycles during the last weekend of Bikers! three weekend run, and what better way to end a day of bike week than by heading over to the Barnstormers Theater and catching one of the final performances of the show. If you don’t have tickets to the show, now is the time to get them.

Rehearsal Photos

Here’s a couple of quick shots from one of our recent rehearsals.

Rolling along…

April 15th, 2010

The cast of Bikers! Has been rehearsing for a couple of weeks now and I’ve noticed a trend in our rehearsals: the actors are stopping to regain composure so many times during scenes, that they’re starting to wonder if they can pull this off with a straight face. Should I take this as a sign that Bikers! is hilarious? Most definitely. Should we listen to our sole fellow actor telling us to “shut our pie holes” and get back to work? Also yes.

I am pleased to report that in addition to our jaws hurting from laughing so much, the scene work and comic scenarios have begun to take the form of a theatrical science experiment gone haywire. The actors are out of control (in a most perfect way!). They’ve grasped the quick pace and humor of the show but now they’re like a bunch of kindergarteners with liquor and handguns.

Stay tuned for rehearsal pictures and some quips from Bikers!. In the meantime, I’ll be making sure each player gets their fair turn sitting on the motorcycle.
